Arranging an assessment
Outpatient appointments are booked through the hospital on the numbers below; international patients can ask for Michael Yu. Bring photographs of yourself from five and ten years ago if you have them, and a written note of what you notice and when. Bring any record of previous facial treatment, including injectables and energy treatments, because previous surgery and previous treatment change what the tissue can tolerate.
What the consultation should establish
Where the laxity actually sits — jaw, midface or neck; what the neck is doing and whether it is the dominant finding; how much of the change is descent and how much is volume or skin; what the hairline and sideburn would do; and what previous surgery has left behind. You should leave able to say which areas the operation treats and which it leaves alone.
The questions worth asking
Which areas does this operation treat, and which does it leave untouched? What happens in the neck? If the result does not hold, what is the plan, and how would a second operation work on tissue that has already been lifted? What will the scars look like after a year? And what would make this the wrong operation for my face? A surgeon who answers the last one specifically is assessing you.
Before you commit
No decision needs to be made at the first appointment. Take the plan away, read it against the guides on this site, and come back with questions. A discount that expires, or pressure to book before an assessment is complete, is information about the clinic rather than about your face.
