This is education, not advice

The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you where your laxity sits, whether your neck would be addressed, or whether an operation is appropriate for your health or your circumstances.

A smaller scar is not a smaller risk

A short-scar lift is still an operation under the same kind of anaesthetic, and the per-operation risks of nerve injury, bleeding, infection, healing problems, widened scars and hairline change apply. Nothing on this site should be read as saying that a shorter incision makes the operation safer.

No outcome is guaranteed

No treatment can be guaranteed. How much a short-scar lift improves, how long the improvement holds, and how the scars settle vary between individuals, and the result is judged honestly over months rather than in the first weeks.

Scars are permanent

Every lift leaves scars, and a shorter scar is shorter rather than absent. Scars mature and soften over a year or more, they do not disappear, and no surgeon can promise that they will be invisible.
